First, Let’s Celebrate!! (As you’ll see Danica and Dueren did that well)
“Fresh ~ Calm ~ Ocean”….are the words that Jennie and Andy used to describe their vision to me. Having their reception at Saybrook Point Inn and Spa (where I am a preferred florist) was the perfect backdrop to make that happen. Jennie spent months collecting sea glass and starfish to scatter all around the ballroom because she wanted her wedding to be personalized. As you’ll see below, they had bag pipes playing during the receiving line at the Old Lyme Congregational Church, they had custom color straws for their personalized cocktails, and even an artist painting their reception in real time. They were such a fun couple and it shows in these awesome photos by Alicia of the newly rebranded and redesigned Alicia Ann Photographers.(formerly known as noeyehasseenphotography)
I know, I know…it’s January! But, I have a ton of July brides contacting me right now and I’ve been thinking about this Colorful ~ Shoreline ~ Bohemian wedding at Madison Beach Hotel. (where I am a preferred florist)
Megan and Mike were not only one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever worked with, they were the LUCKIEST! I know what you’re thinking, because they got to work with me, right? HAHA….NOPE! It was because there was a crazy storm the night the Madison CT fireworks were scheduled for and had gotten rescheduled…TWICE…for July 6th…Megan and Mike’s wedding night!!!! Talk about the best seat in the house as the fireworks let off from a barge in Long Island Sound right outside the Hotel.
“Dreamy” is what comes to mind when I look at Julianne…her dress, her hair piece, her bouquet…. Her and Andrew’s wedding was so soft and full of romance…you have to see for yourself….
Venue: Saltwater Farm Vineyard (where we are PREFERRED)
Caterer: Gourmet Galley, Keri Bell is awesome! They refer us quite often and we are PREFERRED at their venue, Guilford Yacht Club
Photographer: Maggie Conley This was my first time working with her and she was lovely, so easy going and so talented. She is the reason this blog post is even titled Dreamy!
Joanna and Greg were so sweet to work with! Another couple that used me for my Style Services as I worked closely with them on all the details such as bridesmaids dress color, linen choice and color, lace topper, colored lace detail on the seating cards, table numbers, etc etc I remember walking into the Pine Orchard Yacht Club with the flowers and hearing a gasp from the staff…not only because these centerpieces were.to.die.for but because it was an ‘Aha’ moment as they saw everything come together and make sense. I will let the photos from the very talented Sean and Micheal from millimeter photo not only show you the details but the love and happiness that they captured from Joanna and Greg that day. Joanna was prettied up even more than normal by the fabulous Maria Licari! PERFECTION!
Summer Weddings are my fav. The weather is hot and steamy just like the love that is being celebrated! I know, cheesy! but I’m serious, there’s something about Summer Lovin’…..Yup, that’s a Grease reference….
You see what I mean??? Emily and Jon’s Summer Wedding was absolutely flawless and I never use that word. Ever. The hair, the dress, the groom, the flowers, the flowers, the venue, the sunset, the birch chuppah, did I mention the flowers? Not only was Emily so gracious throughout the planning process she trusted me implicitly which makes my job so much easier. It means I am able to make design decisions on the fly if I want to change something for the better, I can without a worry. It means I can be creative and add touches that come to me when I’m in design mode that I know the bride will love and I can just go ahead and do it! Everything comes out better than ever imagined when I can be fully trusted and do what you hired me to do…bring your vision to life. Which is what I did here…take a look for yourself…
I couldn’t have hand picked a better team of Creative Partners to work this wedding with. I have to start with the unbelievably talented Victor from Binary Flips Photography. Their entire team are so creative it blows my mind. I added a few beautiful photos of Emily below that I just needed you to see, enjoy!
The Inn at Longshore, Westport CT I am happy to announce that I am now their preferred florist! YAY
The Delamar, Southport CT The bridal party got ready here and they were very accommodating
Summer is my favorite season for a wedding at The Inn at Longshore….especially when you have a couple like Brooke and Tom! They totally embraced their summer wedding by using very vibrant florals for the decor and by choosing a steel drum band for the outdoor cocktail hour which allowed me to come up with a fun idea to use tiki torches as vases! They weren’t afraid to use COLOR which matched their personality perfectly, so why wouldn’t we have explosions of color bursting on every guest table. That ballroom came alive that day.
Take a look for yourself…. Amazing Photos by Misty Enight
Candi’s Floral Creations is the Preferred Florist of The Inn at Longshore
Beyond Thrilled to have Style Me Pretty feature our Orchard Photo Shoot! This was such a labor of love! I wanted to design something that was ‘on trend’ but also ‘ahead of the trend’. This can be a fine line and a tough balance. We kept the florals more of an accent while keeping them very Garden Elegance and an easy-whimsical feeling so that the metallic details could take center stage. And boy did they! Copper is the new Gold and it’s awesome that we started this trend…get ready, because you are about to see a lot of it in your travels!
Please take some time to read about the shoot, meet the entire creative team and what we used as inspiration on Style Me Pretty.

Merrin and Gabe came to me with some GREAT ideas but needed my experience and talent to bring it all to life! I’ve recently created another division of my Floral Design Experience called ‘Design Coordination’ which you can read more about HERE, which allows you to be able to sit back and relax and let me execute the vision above and beyond the flowers. This level of planning works great when my clients have extremely busy schedules or are from out of state…or in Merrin and Gabe’s case out of the country and living in London! Merrin wanted a Bohemian flair on the tables and the underlying theme was Ikat patterns on her fabric and paper, so, with the help of my mother (where my creative genes come from) we not only found some great eclectic fabrics to incorporate into her decor but we took it up a notch and hand made the guest Table Top Linens, as well as Merrin and Gabe’s chair covers, along with runners for the seating card table and toppers for the cocktail tables. When I saw her invitations and menus I was astounded that the fabrics I chose for her tables were the exact pattern she chose for her paper! It all came together elegantly with pops of Hot Pink and Gold with accents of driftwood, succulents and mercury glass. This wedding was a TRUE partnership…so much so that I just received an email from Merrin stating that I have inspired her to make a career change to become an Interior Designer! If that’s not flattering, I don’t know what is!
HUGE thanks to:
Christine at Piece of Cake Weddings for introducing me to Merrin and Gabe
Eric at be creative Photography for taking such fabulous pictures. You wouldn’t have known by looking that there were torrential downpours all day.
Maggie at The Wee Burn Beach Club of Darien for being so fantastic with my team and I and on point with their inclement weather plan
Ashley at A Little Something White Bridal Couture for Merrin’s incredible dress
Merrin and Gabe’s Testimonial:
” T n T “….Tim and Tony were one of the funnest, easiest, most creative couples I have had the pleasure of working with. They told me they wanted an Alice in Wonderland / Woodland theme…they wanted their wedding to look like fairies lived there…but NO fairies…just lady bugs, mushrooms, gnomes and fire flies. Naturally, I said ABSOLUTELY…and then I asked, “How far do you want to go with this?” That was a silly, silly question……..
The Groomsmaids Bouquets
I hired one of my favorite photographers to take the detail shots above. Tim and Tony hired a dear friend to capture their special moments below.
There were so many more details not even shown here…there were just too many. They surprised their guests by having the Yale Wiffenpoofs act as guests and as the Wedding Party walked down the aisle, one by one a Wiffenpoof popped up from the seats and starting singing “It’s a Beautiful Day”. It was AMAZING! We had fire flies hanging from the chandeliers, there was a HUGE Woodland Tree in the foyer to great guests. I even designed a crazy Birch Tree with plants and critters, etc…not the greatest picture, but you need to see this!
It was the funnest and most memorable wedding to design to date and what’s even better is that we remained great friends…even went to a live taping of the Martha Stewart show! Thank you T and T for allowing me to create your dream wedding!
