“Fresh ~ Calm ~ Ocean”….are the words that Jennie and Andy used to describe their vision to me. Having their reception at Saybrook Point Inn and Spa (where I am a preferred florist) was the perfect backdrop to make that happen. Jennie spent months collecting sea glass and starfish to scatter all around the ballroom because she wanted her wedding to be personalized. As you’ll see below, they had bag pipes playing during the receiving line at the Old Lyme Congregational Church, they had custom color straws for their personalized cocktails, and even an artist painting their reception in real time. They were such a fun couple and it shows in these awesome photos by Alicia of the newly rebranded and redesigned Alicia Ann Photographers.(formerly known as noeyehasseenphotography)
Joanna and Greg were so sweet to work with! Another couple that used me for my Style Services as I worked closely with them on all the details such as bridesmaids dress color, linen choice and color, lace topper, colored lace detail on the seating cards, table numbers, etc etc I remember walking into the Pine Orchard Yacht Club with the flowers and hearing a gasp from the staff…not only because these centerpieces were.to.die.for but because it was an ‘Aha’ moment as they saw everything come together and make sense. I will let the photos from the very talented Sean and Micheal from millimeter photo not only show you the details but the love and happiness that they captured from Joanna and Greg that day. Joanna was prettied up even more than normal by the fabulous Maria Licari! PERFECTION!
Summer is my favorite season for a wedding at The Inn at Longshore….especially when you have a couple like Brooke and Tom! They totally embraced their summer wedding by using very vibrant florals for the decor and by choosing a steel drum band for the outdoor cocktail hour which allowed me to come up with a fun idea to use tiki torches as vases! They weren’t afraid to use COLOR which matched their personality perfectly, so why wouldn’t we have explosions of color bursting on every guest table. That ballroom came alive that day.

Beyond Thrilled to have Style Me Pretty feature our Orchard Photo Shoot! This was such a labor of love! I wanted to design something that was ‘on trend’ but also ‘ahead of the trend’. This can be a fine line and a tough balance. We kept the florals more of an accent while keeping them very Garden Elegance and an easy-whimsical feeling so that the metallic details could take center stage. And boy did they! Copper is the new Gold and it’s awesome that we started this trend…get ready, because you are about to see a lot of it in your travels!
Please take some time to read about the shoot, meet the entire creative team and what we used as inspiration on Style Me Pretty.

Remember that magical wedding you dreamed of when you were little? Well, this is it!
Lisa and Justin’s wedding has all the luxuries of a fairytale wedding……draping chandelier crystals, cut out lace wedding day paper, the most elegant white and champagne florals, a white dance floor that makes you feel like your skating, Jimmy Choo shoes, an Ines Di Santos gown, Armani tuxedos…..and in a Castle to boot!
OHEKA Castle is a Gold Coast Mansion that transports you to a chateaux in France. It’s a popular backdrop for all types of media; in 1941, the motion picture Citizen Cane featuring Orson Welles was filmed here and more recent, Taylor Swift’s Black Space music video.
We aren’t the only ones that think this wedding is special…so does Grace Ormonde! That’s right! Lisa and Justin’s wedding graced the pages of Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style Magazine Website and you can see it HERE!
There are simply now words that can describe this Glamorous wedding better than the images from Jaylim Studios.

I first met Megan and Jackie at a bridal show I was working at Belle Terrace @ Avon Old Farms. I had recently become a preferred florist with the venue and thought this would be a great way for me to showcase my work to their couples. WOW, did that pay off! Megan and Jackie had already booked a florist for their wedding, but when they met me and saw my work and all that I had offered, they made the decision to hire me instead! I also offer wedding coordination, which I think helped them make this decision. They came to me with a crazy color story…blue, raspberry, purple, orange and green. Now while that could be awesome wedding colors….it wasn’t making sense with the words they were using to describe their wedding….. “Elegant” “Classic” “Timeless” “Springy’….etc etc
So…we started from scratch! After a few meetings we came up with this new color scheme that we ALL feel in love with! Purples, Merlot, and Green…with tons of different shades in between…with an accent of BLING and silver. Now we were getting somewhere. I helped them decide on their linen colors…which were spot on with my floral color choices. I helped them figure out the best place to have the ceremony within the venue and how we could make that beautiful. We also talked about the weather…it was early March, but if it was a very warm day, we designed a back up plan to be able to decorate the outdoor area the morning of. It was a great collaboration between couple and florist…they way it should be…always!
I will let the pictures by the amazing Val at Valdorama Photography tell the story of Megan and Jackie……
It only took a day and we were all hooked! I mean they booked! When I first talked with Kristin and Brian on the phone, we all knew this was going to be an awesome collaboration. It was the day after we spoke for the first time that they booked with me…having never met me. It was truly meant to be as I knew exactly what they wanted and we had just clicked so well. Knowing that I had their trust from the get go, I was able to really be creative and push the envelope with some over the top ideas. When designing an Old Hollywood style wedding you always want more crystals, more pearls, more sparkle! They were not afraid! We kept light on the feather because we really wanted the flowers to be the focus as Kristin LOVED flowers and wanted them everywhere. Love the little twists in design they so happily said YES to…feathers shooting out one side of the centerpieces for a modern flair, crystal curtains, feathers and crystals decorating the chuppah, etc I even made major changes the day of, knowing they were going to LOVE it…keeping the chuppah in place after ceremony and having them sit under it at their reception…uplighting all four chuppah poles (which was not in the plans, but once Rob from Correlation Productions saw the chuppah he was able to get creative and we made that awesome decision together!) It was just an easy, elegant, beautiful wedding and experience working with Kristin and Brian and all of their great vendors! This was truly a wonderful group of vendors that went above and beyond to make their day the best it could be!

I hope you enjoy looking at these gorgeous photos…and the gorgeous couple…movie star gorgeous!
Pastel color stories are making a comeback and I can see why. They are etherial, light, peaceful, romantic… much like Stephanie and Jaxon’s wedding that took place at the magical Saltwater Farm Vineyard. It’s a great place to have accents of rustic and vintage and being a vineyard…you get my drift. From an old mailbox to fill with love letters, a burlap book to leave marital advice for the couple, to candy striped straws for a signature drink to wooden slabs, mercury glass, mason jars with burlap and lace as decor for the guest tables and ceremony. I feel there is an art to gathering many eclectic elements and making them work….which is why Stephanie and Jax hired ME ! I absolutely love pairing the old with the new and the rustic with the elegant. I hope you will too! Get ready for prettiness overload as there were too many images for me to choose from by the fabulous Jennifer from Jennifer Bach Photography! A huge thanks to Jennifer from Gourmet Galley Catering as she was so incredible and accommodating to work with!
Vintage Vineyard Chic….That’s the only way you can describe this wedding…other than BEAUTIFUL, Fun, Preppy, Silly, Loving, Rustic Elegance, Eclectic… I really can go on and on and…..
This was one of those weddings that I would have wanted to attend! Not only were Christine and John the cutest, sweetest, nicest, easiest, trusting couple ever, they, along with their family and guests, were SO MUCH fun…so happy…so ready to celebrate and party!!! My cheeks hurt from smiling back at everyone smiling and saying hello to me. It was so difficult to narrow these photos down to only 12 since Shane at Readyluck Photography , captured their silliness, personality, and love in every photo! He is amazingly talented and great to work with. You’ll soon see what I mean….. but first, I need to mention some of the creative partners that I had the pleasure of working with that made this event even better:
Saltwater Farm Vineyard. I LOVE being preferred at this Vineyard. Love everything about this place…the back story, the beauty, the coolness…. and the owners, Michael and Merrily!!! But we can’t forget about Paul…their right hand man. Each one are so dedicated to making each event special and memorable.
A Thyme to Cook Catering. I’ve worked with them a few times and it’s been a pleasure. They are on top of things which is exactly what you want when looking for a caterer.
Sara Faella’s Glam Squad. The traveling hair and makeup team. I’m always arriving as they are busy working, sometimes I get lost in watching them do their magic!
Red Door Salon. Off Site Hair and Makeup
We Love Photobooths. AND they really mean that. They were fantastic and very creative! (The link takes you to the “crew” of this company since that page alone would make me want to hire them!)
Guests arrived by Bus from First Group and Bridal Party by 7 person SUV from Professional Limousine.
Let the Fun begin….
I am so happy that Heather and Steven’s wedding at New Haven Lawn Club was featured so that more people can see it…..It was the quintessential Sweet Rustic Spring wedding! It had all the makings…yellow, green and white, mason jars, burlap, twine, garden-style bouquets, antique wooden crates(that I have had for years!), tree stumps cake stands,(thanks to Hurricane Irene we had plenty of trees available to make these little buggers!) etc etc
Heather and Stephen were so involved with the planning, I loved it! The more detailed they got…the more creative I got! I think there must have been 10 VERY long emails going back and forth one night……we were SO on the same page…it was RIDIC! So much so, that after the wedding Heather’s sister emailed me to let me know how much I nailed their personality and she couldn’t believe how perfect everything was! That was it!!!! The reason I do this!!!
You can see the full feature and read all about this special couple and their wedding right here on Bliss Celebrations, but let me give you a sneak peek……
