Coral and Cranes

The bridesmaids dresses were Coral, while the theme was embedded with Cranes!  What a wonderful combination.

Lauren wanted her ceremony to be a bit muted and elegant while the punch of color and whimsy showcased at the reception.  The location was Laurel View Country Club in Hamden, Ct, which is very pretty, but does need a more up to date makeover.  The curtains and rug are deep burgundy and Lauren really wanted her centerpieces to compliment the room…so of course, we delivered!

We used so many unique colors for this summer wedding, they worked so well with each other and really pulled everything together.

Her favorite flowers were peonies and we were able to get her the most beautiful Coral peonies ever!

The ceremony took place at Yale, The Marquand Chapel, which was the most beautiful room to design in.

Have fun at Lauren’s wedding and remember to click on the pics for a larger view!

New Haven Lawn Club Tasting

As the preferred florist for New Haven Lawn Club, I was honored to be invited by Christine and John to take part in their tasting day for 14 of their more recent couples.  It was a great day spent with all the couples, their families,  and other great featured vendors.

Every table was designed according to each couple’s style and color theme.  It was a challenge to design 14 different table centerpieces that were all so different.  The lighting really made the centerpieces come alive!

This is just a teaser!  I really want to wait for the professional pics that were taken by the amazing Aurora Photography!  Thank you Aurora, Cate, and Morgen!  What a bunch of down to earth, great gals!

I LOVES THEM!

Aurora posted some teaser shots for me that you can view on her facebook gallery.

Courtyard by Marriott Expo

The Courtyard by Marriott  in Shelton CT has asked that I be their preferred florist, yay!  They had a bridal expo and I was the only florist showcasing my designs.  It was a great day and I enjoyed meeting all the couples!  The Marriott also hosts a slew of other events, such as, Bar and Bah Mitzvahs, Anniversary Parties, Sweet 16, etc etc

Lisa, the owner of Chair Affair, and I designed 3 main table displays which were fully set with linens, chair covers, napkins etc   They were all of different themes. Then there were about 8 other tables that had smaller centerpieces.

Please enjoy all of my different creations….

Purple Ostrich Feathers!

As you can tell by a few weddings on my website, I LOVE feathers!!!!

I was hired for a Bar Mitzvah to create tall Purple Ostrich Feather centerpieces.  I was so excited when I got the call because I love making these centerpieces, they are so much fun.  This was the first time I had used the purple color and they came in vibrant, to say the least! Loves them!

I arranged them to sit atop a tall tower vase (eiffel tower vase) filled with white water beads for a little more flair!

This event took place at Cascade in Hamden. Their chandeliers are to die for!  A very classic place to have any special event.

These centerpieces and any other color ostrich feather centerpiece available for rental!

Water’s Edge BRIDAL SHOW

I am the preferred wedding florist for The Water’s Edge Resort and Spa located in Westbrook, Ct.  They had their annual bridal show this past weekend and the turn out was great!  I met a ton of great brides and loved hearing about their weddings.

I decided to design an example of guest table that would be at the reception.  I chose a clean and fresh color scheme: yellow, white and green…..with an accent of black!

I call it TROPICAL ELEGANCE………

Elegant Harvest Centerpiece

Okay, so this centerpiece you’re about to see is HUGE, so get ready!  I was invited by Winvian (an extraordinary resort tucked away in the Litchfield Hills) to partake in a exclusive bridal show of preferred vendors.

Winvian is home to many unnamed famous clients whom enjoy the horses and vineyard while they stay in the eclectically designed high end cabins.

Since I knew that it would take place in the barn they rent out for weddings, I wanted to go with warm colors and a harvest feel.  I love mixing unique items with flowers such as champagne grapes, wired covered moss balls, artichokes, candles, moss covered candles etc  Especially in the fall, bringing natural elements into the design really completes the harvest feel.

This style of design is a perfect impression piece for a wedding place card table, a hotel foyer, a restaurant entry way etc.

Natural wedding chuppah

This wedding chuppah is a rental item.  It is best used for outdoor where it can be decorated with flowering branches for that natural feel. Don’t let the picture fool you, it was taken with a fish eye lens by Danny Kash! You can see more photos from this wedding on our website in Tedessa and Jeff’s Gallery.

Tropical Wedding

My sister-in-law was getting married and since they were going to a tropical island for their honeymoon, she wanted her wedding to have that same feel.  Since she and her now husband are young, fun and love a party atmosphere, we thought the luau theme would be perfect.  Unfortunately it was a rainy day, but once you stepped into the room, you were transported onto the tropical island where rain was the last thing on anyone’s mind.

This tropical theme can be used for birthday parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, jack and jill showers and much more!
