I remember the day Julie and Tom called me…in a panic…’Our wedding is Thanksgiving Weekend and no one will take our wedding…AND I want an all fabric bouquet and no one will make one for me” …. I calmed her down and told her she didn’t need to look any further and all those “no’s” were leading her right to me! From there is was so obvious we were meant to plan her wedding flowers together…an instant connection. We were able to create a color story that was so unique and perfect for a late fall, rustic wedding. And her bouquet? Giexsell, my lead designer, and I hand made most of those flowers….5 hours later, isn’t it awesome? Have a look at Julie and Tom’s very personal, unique, Rustic ~ Elegant wedding!
But before we look at the beautiful photos, I have to talk about these AMAZING vendors! Eric and his wife Corey are not only the sweetest people they are so very talented! he loves to get detail shots, as you’ll soon see.
Erica??? Her cakes are award winning. You need to be following her on Instagram or take one of her classes!
C’mon! Look at this detail!!!!!!
“Fresh ~ Calm ~ Ocean”….are the words that Jennie and Andy used to describe their vision to me. Having their reception at Saybrook Point Inn and Spa (where I am a preferred florist) was the perfect backdrop to make that happen. Jennie spent months collecting sea glass and starfish to scatter all around the ballroom because she wanted her wedding to be personalized. As you’ll see below, they had bag pipes playing during the receiving line at the Old Lyme Congregational Church, they had custom color straws for their personalized cocktails, and even an artist painting their reception in real time. They were such a fun couple and it shows in these awesome photos by Alicia of the newly rebranded and redesigned Alicia Ann Photographers.(formerly known as noeyehasseenphotography)
” T n T “….Tim and Tony were one of the funnest, easiest, most creative couples I have had the pleasure of working with. They told me they wanted an Alice in Wonderland / Woodland theme…they wanted their wedding to look like fairies lived there…but NO fairies…just lady bugs, mushrooms, gnomes and fire flies. Naturally, I said ABSOLUTELY…and then I asked, “How far do you want to go with this?” That was a silly, silly question……..
The Groomsmaids Bouquets
I hired one of my favorite photographers to take the detail shots above. Tim and Tony hired a dear friend to capture their special moments below.
There were so many more details not even shown here…there were just too many. They surprised their guests by having the Yale Wiffenpoofs act as guests and as the Wedding Party walked down the aisle, one by one a Wiffenpoof popped up from the seats and starting singing “It’s a Beautiful Day”. It was AMAZING! We had fire flies hanging from the chandeliers, there was a HUGE Woodland Tree in the foyer to great guests. I even designed a crazy Birch Tree with plants and critters, etc…not the greatest picture, but you need to see this!
It was the funnest and most memorable wedding to design to date and what’s even better is that we remained great friends…even went to a live taping of the Martha Stewart show! Thank you T and T for allowing me to create your dream wedding!
It only took a day and we were all hooked! I mean they booked! When I first talked with Kristin and Brian on the phone, we all knew this was going to be an awesome collaboration. It was the day after we spoke for the first time that they booked with me…having never met me. It was truly meant to be as I knew exactly what they wanted and we had just clicked so well. Knowing that I had their trust from the get go, I was able to really be creative and push the envelope with some over the top ideas. When designing an Old Hollywood style wedding you always want more crystals, more pearls, more sparkle! They were not afraid! We kept light on the feather because we really wanted the flowers to be the focus as Kristin LOVED flowers and wanted them everywhere. Love the little twists in design they so happily said YES to…feathers shooting out one side of the centerpieces for a modern flair, crystal curtains, feathers and crystals decorating the chuppah, etc I even made major changes the day of, knowing they were going to LOVE it…keeping the chuppah in place after ceremony and having them sit under it at their reception…uplighting all four chuppah poles (which was not in the plans, but once Rob from Correlation Productions saw the chuppah he was able to get creative and we made that awesome decision together!) It was just an easy, elegant, beautiful wedding and experience working with Kristin and Brian and all of their great vendors! This was truly a wonderful group of vendors that went above and beyond to make their day the best it could be!
