Enchanted Vineyard Wedding
I am so excited to talk about Lauren Haymond and Jeff Zimmerman’s Enchanted Vineyard Wedding at Saltwater Farm Vineyard! (of course they are now referred to as Mr and Mrs Zimmerman…or should I say President and First Lady – he he…you’ll see why)
First I have to thank SO many players…. Lauren’s mother, Sharyn Haymond, for seeking me out after meeting with MANY other wedding designers! We had connected right away and had so much fun talking flowers, colors, styles, etc She made me blush every time she referred to me as a “New York” florist! I hear that a lot! I think it’s due to my persistent creativity, unique designs, thinking outside the box, and of course, my funky style! But, enough about me…I was giving thanks…..
Thanks to Lauren’s Father, John Haymond, for being great to work with!
Day of Coordinators, Margaret and Ann from Fancy Pants. They were so easy going and kept on point. They did a great job and worked with my team seamlessly …thank you!
Michael and Kerri from Coastal Gourmet Catering for always putting down the table linens FIRST! We love them!
Merrily and Michael, the owners of Saltwater Farm. They are always so great with me and my team! They refer me often and Michael said that the “Vineyard has never looked so good”…he was very impressed! We thank you and appreciate you both!
MY TEAM!!!! Two Words… A-Mazing! Sarah, my team leader, really stepped it up at this wedding since ALL of the centerpieces needs to be designed ON SITE! There was a ton of decor…17 tables; a chuppah; cocktail; ceremony aisle….etc etc AND we had to get it all done in 2 hours! Yup! That meant everyone was in overdrive and I appreciate their hard work!
And last, but certainly NOT least…. Lauren and Jeff’s Photographer, John Galayda of Blackrock Photography. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of working with him and let me tell you…he was SO nice, so thoughtful, and so easy to work with; before, during and after the wedding. Not to mention his work is fantastic!
It’s so fantastic that I’m not going to bore you anymore with details of the wedding…you can see them ALL through John’s lens…….
Their “guest book”! Such a cute idea!
I can’t stand it! So, I have to include some AWESOME black and whites! Told you John has a great eye and captured so many of the special moments!
Summer romance at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa
Nicha and Jeff’s wedding was so romantic, I fell in love with the Gazebo decor…simple cymbidium orchids hanging from all sides, surrounding them as if it were raining orchids….so dreamy!
They added lots of seashore details, which was perfect for The Water’s Edge, being located right on the water.
Nicha LOVES orchids, so they were EVERYWHERE! Vanda Orchids speckled her bouquet as the Bridesmaids had accents of Dendrobrium orchids. Cymbidium orchids hung from the gazebo and Purple Mokara orchids adorned the ceremony chairs and Dendrobriums for the centerpieces.
I have to give myself a pat on the back for a second…..Did you know that there are umpteen different types AND shades of purple orchids??? Well, fortunately, I do! Some have pink undertones, some have blue undertones….This is why it is so important for floral designers to get swatches!!! Purple can be 8 thousand different shades. So when I saw the swatch of the sash for the Bridesmaids dresses, I knew exactly which purple orchids I wanted and went searching for them…it was rough, but I found them! It pays off to have the same undertone as the dress…which in the case was a blue undertone. Those dresses looked like they were made for those bouquets! Don’t let me get started on the color green….there are more shades of green than I car for…but again, I did my magic and everything looked fantastic!
Thank you….enough about me….How about these photos? How dreamy are they???
Victoria Souza and her husband, Erik, were so friendly and wonderful, as always! Their photos really captured their love and special moments throughout the day. And also caught Mine and Nicha’s little surprise lining the ceremony aisle….can you see what hides between the rose petals?????
Chamard Vineyard Photo Shoot
I LOVE photo shoots! First of all they are so much fun! There is no pressure of designing for someone’s most important day and I can be as creative as I want to be. I can design trendy styles or styles that I’ve always wanted to design but haven’t got the chance to. It also gives me a chance to collaborate with so many different vendors : vendors I love to work with or vendors that I haven’t worked with before. This shoot at Chamard Vineyard in Clinton, CT was great because I have never been to this venue before and I was able to work 2 wonderful people, Christine from Piece of Cake Events and Kiva from Annandale Photography.
If you’re thinking of having an event at Chamard Vineyards and want Candi’s Floral Creations to be your florist, then you may have to fight for us! They have an on sight coordinator that is wonderful, but only uses her “click” of vendors, however, you can bring in any vendor you choose.
I had floral balls and feathers on the brain! We designed 2 tables, each having their own wedding style.
