Yay! So excited to share with you these amazing photos by Abbey Domond Photograhy of Danica and Dueren’s summer wedding in New Haven!

Not to mention the sweet image of them below landed on the blog of The Huffington Post!
Here are the amazing team of vendors(and their direct link to IG pages) that made it all happen for these two: Instgram
Wedding Coordinator: @viceventsnyc
Custom Decor: @ten23designs
Ceremony Venue: Edgerton Park
Reception Venue: The Country House
First, Let’s Celebrate!! (As you’ll see Danica and Dueren did that well)
“Fresh ~ Calm ~ Ocean”….are the words that Jennie and Andy used to describe their vision to me. Having their reception at Saybrook Point Inn and Spa (where I am a preferred florist) was the perfect backdrop to make that happen. Jennie spent months collecting sea glass and starfish to scatter all around the ballroom because she wanted her wedding to be personalized. As you’ll see below, they had bag pipes playing during the receiving line at the Old Lyme Congregational Church, they had custom color straws for their personalized cocktails, and even an artist painting their reception in real time. They were such a fun couple and it shows in these awesome photos by Alicia of the newly rebranded and redesigned Alicia Ann Photographers.(formerly known as noeyehasseenphotography)
“Dreamy” is what comes to mind when I look at Julianne…her dress, her hair piece, her bouquet…. Her and Andrew’s wedding was so soft and full of romance…you have to see for yourself….
Venue: Saltwater Farm Vineyard (where we are PREFERRED)
Caterer: Gourmet Galley, Keri Bell is awesome! They refer us quite often and we are PREFERRED at their venue, Guilford Yacht Club
Photographer: Maggie Conley This was my first time working with her and she was lovely, so easy going and so talented. She is the reason this blog post is even titled Dreamy!
Joanna and Greg were so sweet to work with! Another couple that used me for my Style Services as I worked closely with them on all the details such as bridesmaids dress color, linen choice and color, lace topper, colored lace detail on the seating cards, table numbers, etc etc I remember walking into the Pine Orchard Yacht Club with the flowers and hearing a gasp from the staff…not only because these centerpieces were.to.die.for but because it was an ‘Aha’ moment as they saw everything come together and make sense. I will let the photos from the very talented Sean and Micheal from millimeter photo not only show you the details but the love and happiness that they captured from Joanna and Greg that day. Joanna was prettied up even more than normal by the fabulous Maria Licari! PERFECTION!
What do you do when the sweetest bride ever! tells you she bought her fiance an Orange, Raspberry, Deep Purple and Bright Green bow tie and wants her wedding to be that color story….and using summer-like flowers for her ‘Fall” wedding…? Well, if you’re me, you say ‘Hell yeah, that’s awesome, let’s do it!’ So…we did it and turned out to be one of the best color combinations and floral varieties I’ve designed in a long time. What most people don’t know is that towards the end of wedding season and autumn many flowers become unavailable and the inventory of unique, colorful flowers can be very limited. This is where hiring an experienced designer can benefit you due to the years of connections they have with suppliers as well as knowledge of what can be in season in other countries, etc I’ll spare you the behind the scenes details and just show you what I’m talking about……
Loved how these colors really brightened up the ballrooms at The New Haven Lawn Club
A HUGE thanks to Kathy at Simply K Studios for not only taking these INCREDIBLE photos but for allowing me to show them off to every bride that may want something a little different…something bright and elegant….something so colorful that it transforms a room and a venue! Thank you!
Kristen and Greg were SO involved with the decor and details since they wanted their wedding to stand out, be personal, and for their guests to feel like they were at an Elegant Party…and I think they did a wonderful job!! I LOVE it when not only a bride but a groom really gets on board with a theme and runs with it! It really makes for a better planning experience and even more excitement and anticipation for that special day to see how it all comes together. I am a true believer of hiring the right vendors, ones that are on the same page and can relate to your vision because then you can totally trust in them to do what they were hired to do while you can really enjoy the process of it all and be less stressed. Thank you, Kristen and Greg, for choosing me! I adored both of you ( and your awesome dog that came to every consultation) and appreciate the level of trust you had in me and let me say NO to a few too many ideas…I think we made the right choices It’s couples like you that make me truly fall in love with my talent and career all over again!
Okay, so I don’t even know where to start as there were TOO many details to include photos or even talk about…but I’ll try to do my best….
HOT PINK and NAVY…STRIPES, STRIPES, STRIPES!!! This was their theme and you could see it everywhere you turned….Jr Bridesmaids and Jr Groomsmen walking down the aisle each holding a sign in Hot Pink hanging from Navy and white striped ribbon “Here…Comes…The…Bride”, Hot Pink Peonies wrapped in specialty Navy and White striped Fabric, Custom Made Navy and White Striped Linens, Hot Pink Table Numbers, Menus in the same pattern and colors…..THEN…some fun accents….Fans for each guest to use during the ceremony that doubled as programs, Streamers for guests to wave as they said “I do”, Bottled Water with their logo, Tri Colored Flip Flops, Popcorn Bar, Signature Drinks, A Photo Booth, and the night ended with star shaped chocolate chip cookies and milk!!!
The Dresses from A Little Something White were more than perfect and the men in Blue Blazers/Khaki pants and Navy and Hot Pink Striped Ties made for the Preppiest wedding ever!!!
They couldn’t have chosen a more perfect town and venue as Madison Beach Hotel, being on the beach in Madison and all…(I may be biased as I am a preferred florist and just LOVE this place)
Of course, this wedding wouldn’t be what it is without Tim Nosenzo capturing not only all of the details but their love and special moments as well…Oh, and the VIEW!!!!
Without further delay…..see for yourself!!!
Just because you have 30 people on your guest list doesn’t mean that you have to decorate any less than a large wedding!
And that’s what Kim and Mark did…they wanted flowers and plants to bring their wedding to life…to accent the best day of their lives!
Loving the crisp color story of green – yellow- white…using tons of natural elements such as wood slabs, plants, succulents, clay vessels, moss, burlap…paired with the elegance of lace and mercury glass…and the fun-ness (yes, that’s a word) of paper fans, topiari escort cards, heart garlands, lanterns, extra large table numbers and custom moss lanterns….this made for one of my favorite weddings of all times!!!
This wouldn’t have been a match made in heaven if it wasn’t for Christine from Piece of Cake Events! I swear, she pairs me up with my floral soul mates!
First time working with Russell Morin Fine Catering…Arolin was awesome to work with!
Iris Photography captured not only my details and floral art, but the fun-loving couple during their very intimate affair. It really was the perfect wedding!
I was recently looking through my photos and saw these bouquets…as you’ll see, it was very hard not to see them…they are SO bright and summery!
So I thought I would blog about them in hopes that summer would finally get here!
Lauren and Matt were the sweetest couple to work with and I loved that they were a bit daring! Since they were having a nautical/seashore wedding in Mystic, we started with a more traditional seashore theme…a little safe… using blues, whites, greens, etc Don’t get me wrong, that’s beautiful for a waterside wedding, but when your Bridesmaids dresses are blue and you’re wedding is in the summer…there are SO many color stories you could choose. Lauren, hesitantly, showed me a photo of a VERY bright and colorful bouquet……I fell in love….not only with the color story, but with her as well! I really love it when a bride can be a bit daring and has the guts to really show their personality on the biggest day of their life!
Needless to say, we went with COLOR and the results were fabulous! The couple decided to take a lot of the design on themselves by having lanterns as centerpieces, hanging mason jars with candles enclosed…everything came together perfectly for a Latitude 41 wedding in Mystic! I am very impressed with her DIY skills…have to show them off!
It was also wonderful to work with Coastal Gourmet Catering, Meg of Creative Image Collections (her photos are stunning) and of course their wedding planner Christine of Piece of Cake Event Planning(we love to work together and you’ll see more of our collaborations soon).
Let the prettiness begin………
In the 18 years I’ve been in this industry, this was my first Persian wedding.
Johanna and Kamran were one of my favorite couples. Not only was their style unique….I like to call it “Vintage – Chic”, but they let me have creative freedom with the designs.
We came up with the concept together and just ran with it. We created the tablescapes by using colorful summer garden flowers arranged very effortlessly in various jadeite vessels. Along with the cluster of containers, we added tons of old handkerchiefs to the tables for the vintage effect.
Handkerchiefs were also used to wrap the bouquets and used as a linen to lay under antiqued silver sugar and creamers on the cocktail tables.
The ceremony was so cool! In the Persian culture there is a Sofreh table which housed organic elements that signified certain things. For instance, there was a bowl of eggs to help with fertility. My favorite was the honey that they sensually fed to each other to signify that there marriage and love may always be sweet.
And….we can not forget Arthur! Their Dog / Ring Bearer! He has his own limo that dropped him off and picked him up. Of course, I decorated his collar so he could look as dapper as his parents!
I had my friend and professional photographer, Kiva Sutton from Annandale Photography take these photos for me. I asked him to have fun with some of the photos and give them a vintage feel…and boy did he! What an amazing job he did.
The venue was Salt Water Farm Vineyard located in North Stonington, Ct. The owners Merrily and Michael are the greatest and refer me often. Please click on their names to check out the website to learn more about their renovations and how they turned an old airport into a Winery. The hanger is where receptions take place and the original runway is nestled in between the vineyards. It is the coolest place ever. They are also a part of the CT wine trail…visit them!
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed this couple and creating their vision!
(Johanna and Kamran’s Wedding Photographer’s Photos to come soon. Will have pictures of the bridal party)

My sister-in-law was getting married and since they were going to a tropical island for their honeymoon, she wanted her wedding to have that same feel. Since she and her now husband are young, fun and love a party atmosphere, we thought the luau theme would be perfect. Unfortunately it was a rainy day, but once you stepped into the room, you were transported onto the tropical island where rain was the last thing on anyone’s mind.
This tropical theme can be used for birthday parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, jack and jill showers and much more!
