“Dreamy” is what comes to mind when I look at Julianne…her dress, her hair piece, her bouquet…. Her and Andrew’s wedding was so soft and full of romance…you have to see for yourself….
Venue: Saltwater Farm Vineyard (where we are PREFERRED)
Caterer: Gourmet Galley, Keri Bell is awesome! They refer us quite often and we are PREFERRED at their venue, Guilford Yacht Club
Photographer: Maggie Conley This was my first time working with her and she was lovely, so easy going and so talented. She is the reason this blog post is even titled Dreamy!
Pastel color stories are making a comeback and I can see why. They are etherial, light, peaceful, romantic… much like Stephanie and Jaxon’s wedding that took place at the magical Saltwater Farm Vineyard. It’s a great place to have accents of rustic and vintage and being a vineyard…you get my drift. From an old mailbox to fill with love letters, a burlap book to leave marital advice for the couple, to candy striped straws for a signature drink to wooden slabs, mercury glass, mason jars with burlap and lace as decor for the guest tables and ceremony. I feel there is an art to gathering many eclectic elements and making them work….which is why Stephanie and Jax hired ME ! I absolutely love pairing the old with the new and the rustic with the elegant. I hope you will too! Get ready for prettiness overload as there were too many images for me to choose from by the fabulous Jennifer from Jennifer Bach Photography! A huge thanks to Jennifer from Gourmet Galley Catering as she was so incredible and accommodating to work with!
Vintage Vineyard Chic….That’s the only way you can describe this wedding…other than BEAUTIFUL, Fun, Preppy, Silly, Loving, Rustic Elegance, Eclectic… I really can go on and on and…..
This was one of those weddings that I would have wanted to attend! Not only were Christine and John the cutest, sweetest, nicest, easiest, trusting couple ever, they, along with their family and guests, were SO MUCH fun…so happy…so ready to celebrate and party!!! My cheeks hurt from smiling back at everyone smiling and saying hello to me. It was so difficult to narrow these photos down to only 12 since Shane at Readyluck Photography , captured their silliness, personality, and love in every photo! He is amazingly talented and great to work with. You’ll soon see what I mean….. but first, I need to mention some of the creative partners that I had the pleasure of working with that made this event even better:
Saltwater Farm Vineyard. I LOVE being preferred at this Vineyard. Love everything about this place…the back story, the beauty, the coolness…. and the owners, Michael and Merrily!!! But we can’t forget about Paul…their right hand man. Each one are so dedicated to making each event special and memorable.
A Thyme to Cook Catering. I’ve worked with them a few times and it’s been a pleasure. They are on top of things which is exactly what you want when looking for a caterer.
Sara Faella’s Glam Squad. The traveling hair and makeup team. I’m always arriving as they are busy working, sometimes I get lost in watching them do their magic!
Red Door Salon. Off Site Hair and Makeup
We Love Photobooths. AND they really mean that. They were fantastic and very creative! (The link takes you to the “crew” of this company since that page alone would make me want to hire them!)
Guests arrived by Bus from First Group and Bridal Party by 7 person SUV from Professional Limousine.
Let the Fun begin….
Love it when my favorite couples get their weddings featured in great blogs that I love so much!

Thanks to all the wonderful vendors that worked so hard on this wedding so make it perfect for the perfect couple!
I am so excited to talk about Lauren Haymond and Jeff Zimmerman’s Enchanted Vineyard Wedding at Saltwater Farm Vineyard! (of course they are now referred to as Mr and Mrs Zimmerman…or should I say President and First Lady – he he…you’ll see why)
First I have to thank SO many players…. Lauren’s mother, Sharyn Haymond, for seeking me out after meeting with MANY other wedding designers! We had connected right away and had so much fun talking flowers, colors, styles, etc She made me blush every time she referred to me as a “New York” florist! I hear that a lot! I think it’s due to my persistent creativity, unique designs, thinking outside the box, and of course, my funky style! But, enough about me…I was giving thanks…..
Thanks to Lauren’s Father, John Haymond, for being great to work with!
Day of Coordinators, Margaret and Ann from Fancy Pants. They were so easy going and kept on point. They did a great job and worked with my team seamlessly …thank you!
Michael and Kerri from Coastal Gourmet Catering for always putting down the table linens FIRST! We love them!
Merrily and Michael, the owners of Saltwater Farm. They are always so great with me and my team! They refer me often and Michael said that the “Vineyard has never looked so good”…he was very impressed! We thank you and appreciate you both!
MY TEAM!!!! Two Words… A-Mazing! Sarah, my team leader, really stepped it up at this wedding since ALL of the centerpieces needs to be designed ON SITE! There was a ton of decor…17 tables; a chuppah; cocktail; ceremony aisle….etc etc AND we had to get it all done in 2 hours! Yup! That meant everyone was in overdrive and I appreciate their hard work!
And last, but certainly NOT least…. Lauren and Jeff’s Photographer, John Galayda of Blackrock Photography. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of working with him and let me tell you…he was SO nice, so thoughtful, and so easy to work with; before, during and after the wedding. Not to mention his work is fantastic!
It’s so fantastic that I’m not going to bore you anymore with details of the wedding…you can see them ALL through John’s lens…….
Their “guest book”! Such a cute idea!
I can’t stand it! So, I have to include some AWESOME black and whites! Told you John has a great eye and captured so many of the special moments!
I LOVE photo shoots! First of all they are so much fun! There is no pressure of designing for someone’s most important day and I can be as creative as I want to be. I can design trendy styles or styles that I’ve always wanted to design but haven’t got the chance to. It also gives me a chance to collaborate with so many different vendors : vendors I love to work with or vendors that I haven’t worked with before. This shoot at Chamard Vineyard in Clinton, CT was great because I have never been to this venue before and I was able to work 2 wonderful people, Christine from Piece of Cake Events and Kiva from Annandale Photography.
If you’re thinking of having an event at Chamard Vineyards and want Candi’s Floral Creations to be your florist, then you may have to fight for us! They have an on sight coordinator that is wonderful, but only uses her “click” of vendors, however, you can bring in any vendor you choose.
I had floral balls and feathers on the brain! We designed 2 tables, each having their own wedding style.
The Elegant Red, Black and White Table…..
…and the Natural Purple and Green Table….
..and the Vineyard….
In the 18 years I’ve been in this industry, this was my first Persian wedding.
Johanna and Kamran were one of my favorite couples. Not only was their style unique….I like to call it “Vintage – Chic”, but they let me have creative freedom with the designs.
We came up with the concept together and just ran with it. We created the tablescapes by using colorful summer garden flowers arranged very effortlessly in various jadeite vessels. Along with the cluster of containers, we added tons of old handkerchiefs to the tables for the vintage effect.
Handkerchiefs were also used to wrap the bouquets and used as a linen to lay under antiqued silver sugar and creamers on the cocktail tables.
The ceremony was so cool! In the Persian culture there is a Sofreh table which housed organic elements that signified certain things. For instance, there was a bowl of eggs to help with fertility. My favorite was the honey that they sensually fed to each other to signify that there marriage and love may always be sweet.
And….we can not forget Arthur! Their Dog / Ring Bearer! He has his own limo that dropped him off and picked him up. Of course, I decorated his collar so he could look as dapper as his parents!
I had my friend and professional photographer, Kiva Sutton from Annandale Photography take these photos for me. I asked him to have fun with some of the photos and give them a vintage feel…and boy did he! What an amazing job he did.
The venue was Salt Water Farm Vineyard located in North Stonington, Ct. The owners Merrily and Michael are the greatest and refer me often. Please click on their names to check out the website to learn more about their renovations and how they turned an old airport into a Winery. The hanger is where receptions take place and the original runway is nestled in between the vineyards. It is the coolest place ever. They are also a part of the CT wine trail…visit them!
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed this couple and creating their vision!
(Johanna and Kamran’s Wedding Photographer’s Photos to come soon. Will have pictures of the bridal party)

As the preferred florist for New Haven Lawn Club, I was honored to be invited by Christine and John to take part in their tasting day for 14 of their more recent couples. It was a great day spent with all the couples, their families, and other great featured vendors.
Every table was designed according to each couple’s style and color theme. It was a challenge to design 14 different table centerpieces that were all so different. The lighting really made the centerpieces come alive!
This is just a teaser! I really want to wait for the professional pics that were taken by the amazing Aurora Photography! Thank you Aurora, Cate, and Morgen! What a bunch of down to earth, great gals!
I LOVES THEM!
Aurora posted some teaser shots for me that you can view on her facebook gallery.
